GESS Dubai 2016: successful event for Finnish companies

10-03-2016 GESS Dubai 2016: successful event for Finnish companies A record number of 18 Finnish companies showcased Finnish pedagogical expertise and innovative digital learning solutions at this year’s Global Educational Supplies and Solutions (GESS) Dubai.

Seppo Keränen, Director of Future Learning Finland is very pleased with the Finnish attendance at GESS.

“There is enormous interest from all over the world towards Finnish education. We really saw that good quality education is in great demand in the Gulf area. We also developed many new ideas about how Finland and Finnish educational experts can help locally here. Our stand was very busy and we had many interesting discussions going on. We have already earlier realized that many of our customers require turn-key solutions and very comprehensive portfolio of expertise. That’s why we attended GESS as a group.”

The group of Finnish exhibitors included eight academic institutions, an early childhood development company and nine digital solution providers.

One of the companies at the Finnish stand was Airport College International, a complete online training service provider for airlines, airport ground handling agents and logistics. Pertti Mero, CEO of Airport College was happy with the event.

"This was our first time at GESS, and we made a really good entry. A Dubai based ground handling agent ordered a pilot course for their entire operational staff, a local aviation training academy is interested in starting co-operation regarding our course offering and Training Management System, and also a local educational technology company is keen to start co-operation with us in the Gulf area, especially in Saudi-Arabia."

Dramaforum Ltd, with their Petra´s Planet educational products, was among Finnish exhibitors. Kimmo Kärpijoki, CEO of Dramaforum tells that they have attended GESS also previous years and that he sees GESS as an important event.

"This year one of our goals was to find new partners to sell our solutions in the Middle East. We are glad to state that attending GESS was successful for us, we found resellers for our products that offer a safe online learning environment for children."
